The objective of the Personal Support Worker program is to train students to acquire the competencies required to care for individuals living in the community or long-term care facilities. Students learn to recognize and attend to the emotional and physical needs of those in their care. The small class size and mandatory practicum are designed to develop each student's maximum potential providing them with the best possible education and a leading edge in the health care employment market. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Requirements include a level āCā CPR and first aid certificate, a police background check for criminal records, a medical certificate (immunization report from doctor), and a completed industry-related pre-test. |
